Broken holds on Leviathon and Portane in general...

Tim and I were out at Portrane yesterday and noticed that a number of holds have been broken. In particular, the large left had side pull on the arch, if you look at Johnnys video, it's the one that he uses his heel on, so the heel is no out... However, I was on the problem and it is still possible to get onto the top section, albeit using a toe and the bottom few moves are a bit more strenuous. I don't think that it will affect the grade. Also, there's a big chunk out of the top of xmen, making the reach to the top much easier, definitely a grade easier. Radioactive seaweed and Peter Marks also now have a huge flat hold instead of the small crimps, definitely downgrade the problems to about 5+.
Tim noticed that some of the footholds have been been heavily 'brushed'. In my mind, portrane is not a place that you really need to brush heavily, the rock being as it is, and a toothbrush to remove chalk is all I have ever felt the need to use. I am not saying that this was done deliberately but as far as I know, all of these problems had 'blocks' ripped out of them over the course of a week. These problems were not in this state last week. I do know that bits of Portrane come off occasionally but generally, these bits are just small edges. The other thing that I find strange is that whoever was there when Leviathon broke did not feel the need to mention it on the message board.
