I found that pallet down by readons roof kinda helpfull. I agree that you should use what's to hand and it shouldn't involve leaving rock scars etc. I do think if the landings are particulary bad and people are happy to go to the trouble of carrying pallets or what ever in on a temporary basis good luck to them. As long as they don't become perminant and are removed or completely hidden after each session it's cool. I don't agree with it being left visible one mans landing is another mans eyesore/ litter. It would probably be safer after a problem is climbed to mention it in the guide. Climbed above patio/pallets so people know what they are getting into.
